Magic has arrived in Arthengard, and this time, both stores played along.
I’ll admit that after the Apple chaos last time, I didn’t submit this update without a bit of a knot in my stomach—but everything went through without a hitch. The update is live on both Android and iOS.
What 0.2.0 brings specifically: Runes are permanent magical items that can be equipped, but they cannot simply be crafted. They must be found in dungeons, making them true pieces of loot. However, if you own a rune, you can either duplicate it at a high cost or cheaply “print” it onto a scroll, which then acts as a consumable item automatically used in combat.
In addition, there are health and mana potions, new intelligence-based jobs, and a Mage Robe set—the first equipment set specifically designed to boost the Intelligence attribute. And that’s not all the magic coming to Arthengard; further magical items are already in the planning stages.
In practice, this means characters now have significantly more depth regarding specialization, and the community must decide together how to develop their city. Furthermore, those who wander through Arthengard with a watchful eye might discover a surprise or two that I will deliberately leave unmentioned for now.
